Piet is a very respected and accomplished musician. He started his career as a guitarist. During the Eurovision Song Contest in 1969 he played the guitar on the winning song, ‘De Troubadour’ by Lenny Kuhr. In the early 70’s he achieved success as a composer and songwriter with hits for acts such as Ramses Shaffy, Liesbeth List and American Gypsy. In 1976, along with producer Hans van Hemert and manager Han Meijer, he found the very successful female pop/disco group ‘Luv’’, for which he wrote and composed countless hits that would go on to sell millions of records worldwide. In 1979 he found another group, Doris D & the Pins, for which he wrote the #1 hit ‘Shine Up’. Souer also regularly worked with foreign artists such as Vicky Leandros, Helen Shapiro, Engelbert Humperdinck, Sylvie Vartan and Kathy Kissoon.

Aside from his work with artists, Piet also has an impressive catalogue of music composed for well- known films & television shows such as ‘Suske en Wiske’, ‘Vincent van Gogh’, ‘Rembrandt van Rijn’, ‘Lingo’, ‘Spoorloos’, as well as for the theatres ‘Ciske de Rat’ and ‘De Drie Musketiers’.
